So it’s Monday, look at that, the weekend flew by! I celebrated Father’s Day on the lake with my family, which means lot’s of snacks and food, and BBQing. Needless to say I’m feeling a little out of shape this fine morning. I was going to write a huge long blog for you all, but this is just not the day for that. So I thought I would share something that happened to me last week at my CrossFit class. I’m sure it will give you all a laugh to kick-start your Monday morning.

Here it goes.

Have You Heard of Lululemon?

I am absolutely obsessed with this over priced, fancy, workout brand called Lululemon. You might have heard of it, as it is pretty popular. They have me hooked! I think partly because I played Softball all my life, and my workout gear was a little less bright, colorful, and cute. I mean every girl likes to look good working out, and show off some new gear.

The CrossFit Shorts That Rocked My World

Screen Shot 2013-06-17 at 8.47.38 AMI only have a few Lululemon items, however when I saw their newest pair of purple paisley printed running shorts I knew I would be breaking into my Paypal account and forking out some mula. I pictured myself strutting through a CrossFit WOD wearing my new lulu CrossFit clothing with a huge smile on my face.

Now, lets take a step back to admire these stunning little shorts.

Here is what Lulu has to say about the features:

We developed these running shorts with split side hems for increased airflow and room for our lengthy stride. The lightweight, four-way stretch Swift fabric makes these the next best thing to running naked. The chafe-resistant flat seams are designed to help protect sweaty, sensitive skin from irritating chafe when streaking’s not an option.

Sounds amazing right! And the pattern and colors…ADORABLE!

Should It Be Illegal to Wear a Loin Cloth for CrossFit Clothing?

Here is where it get’s really good. My shorts finally arrived last week, I tore through the packaging slipped them on, and wow they fit like a glove. I had a CrossFit class that evening so I decided to get my cute little outfit all ready and I have to say the shorts were still amazing.

That was until I realized the comfy and helpful “Split Side hem” really meant “These shorts turn into a loin cloth when you do handstand push-ups!” This is no joke, I wish I had a picture from that day. Actually no I don’t…loin cloth..me…no pic! There I was completely upside down on a wall, doing push-ups. Pretty impressive to most, until they see my loin cloth shorts. The front half of the shorts had fallen over my waist, and the back half folded down over my butt. Which revealed the built-in turquoise underwear to my class. Talk about embarrassing, and the worst part was I couldn’t stop laughing the whole time I was doing hand-stand push-ups because I kept picturing me in a loin cloth, upside down. I even distracted my friends next to me by my loud laughter.

I learned that day that split seam shorts should not be worn for CrossFit clothing, especially when the WOD requires you to go upside down. I learned the hard way, hopefully these words of wisdom help you out!
