What Does A CrossFit Workout Consist Of?

CrossFit workouts are structured with a strength-emphasis primary lift and a speed emphasis, which includes mobility, flexibility and drills. After a dynamic warm-up, the athletes perform the primary lift, and between sets they work on explosive speed with drills like box jumps. Afterward, they are on to assistance work such as ring rows and speed and ankle-strength drills such as lateral jumps. Lastly a class might be rounded off with a workout that demands high intensity.

How Can CrossFit Prevent Athletic Injuries?

CrossFit and the movements it demands can be used to pinpoint your fitness weaknesses, reveal possibly injury issues, and even provide telling signs of possible future injuries. For example, the overhead squat is a fountain of information and data that can be used to assess knee alignment, shoulder flexibility, lower back and ab strength, balance, coordination, and more! That is a lot of feedback with just one movement and that is why CrossFit uses multiple movements over time to provide feedback for athletes.

CrossFit Isn't Just for Athletes:

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. But what many people don't realize is anyone can do CrossFit. That means parents, siblings, family, and friends. No matter your age, fitness level, or injuries I can put a program in place that will improve your overall health and fitness.

CrossFit Attitude:

I want to coach athletes who have goals and who have heart. No matter what your size is, your shape, your hair color, or if you like pink I want to train you if you have heart and a good work ethic. My goal as a CrossFit trainer is to improve your fitness level and prepare you for the unknown. Whether that be college level softball, baseball, basketball, soccer, travel ball, club ball, school sports, or being a mom and dad.

If you have the attitude of work hard, and strive to improve then I can help you. If you don't want to learn, don't care, don't wan't to improve then I can't help you, and that's the truth! You have to want to change, and want it for yourself.

CrossFit can do amazing things for your self-esteem and can even bring out more than you thought you had inside of you, you just have to give it a chance. Haley is a great example of this:

There is No Expiration Date for Athletes:

Did you play sports at a higher level and now you feel like your too old too compete? Maybe you miss the exhilaration and feeling you got during competition? Are you competitive, and always want to be better? If you have answered yes to these questions then I have a solution for you. I too played college softball, graduated after four years of playing D-1 and then I felt lost. I didn't know what to do or how to fill that void. Then I found CrossFit. I was out of shape, and could barely finish a workout, but gradually I improved and now I am striving to compete. I am happier than ever, and have discovered there is no time limit or expiration date for you. You are an athlete for life and CrossFit is a way for you to compete and express yourself.
